Teachers recognized for their contribution to teacher education
The Faculty of Education recognized four associate teachers for their outstanding work in the classroom.
Karen Swartz, Karen Green, Melissa Jones and Mallory MacLeod were presented with the Associate Teacher’s Award for Excellence during an award luncheon at the Windermere Manor.
Associate Teachers supervise, support and mentor Bachelor of Education Teacher Candidates who are on teaching practicum placements at schools throughout a number of different school boards.
Winners are nominated each year by the Teacher Candidates with whom they work. A committee within the Faculty of Education selects four winners from the dozens of nominations they receive each year.
The Faculty of Education has been presenting the Associate Teacher’s Award for Excellence for over 30 years.
