Robyn Masters is a PhD School and Child Psychology Candidate who supports building capacity for the important adults in children’s lives, their parents and teachers. She strives to answer the question; how do we support teachers and parents to do what they do best? She received the Social Science and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) to support her research. Robyn is currently working with children and families at Gilpin & Associates and the Child and Youth Development Clinic at Western University.

As a GlobalMINDS Fellow Robyn is passionate about global human rights and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. She works with an interdisciplinary team of Canadian and Kenyan researchers to develop social innovation opportunities for individuals who have lived experience with serious mental illness. Their current social business positions recovery within a strength-based community model. It pairs meaningful employment and entrepreneurial support with psychosocial rehabilitation and family connection.

In 2015, Robyn completed her MA in Counselling Psychology during which she worked as a child, family, and group therapist at community mental health organizations including Vanier's Children's Services, Merrymount Family Crisis Centre, and the Cross Cultural Learning Centre. More recently, she completed a 10-month psychoeducational assessment practicum at Thames Valley District School Board.
