In memoriam - Olivia Vaseleniuck
The Western community is mourning the death of Olivia Vaseleniuck, a student in Year 1 of the Bachelor of Education Program. Olivia passed away on November 18, 2021 and will be missed by all those who knew her at Western.
Well known for her joie de vivre, Olivia skydived, skied, surfed and taught herself to snowboard while being an enthusiastic traveller. As an Education student, she also looked forward to incorporating a global perspective as a teacher. Olivia had plans to do her IB certification and was set to volunteer in Tanzania over the winter break.
Western extends its condolences to Olivia’s family: her father Neil Vaseleniuck, mother Janice Henwood, step-father Keith Mulvihill; brothers Kian Mulvihill, Brandon Vaseleniuck (Michelle), Kyle Vaseleniuck (Erica); grandparents Victor Vaseleniuck (Sharon), Deanna Mulvihill (Ray Tyson), Ray Mulvihill (Claire Crerie), and to her extended family, friends and classmates.
Western reminds the campus community that counselling services are available to support students, faculty, and staff during this difficult time.
