New technology helps students talk to recruiters in real time
Students looking to apply to the Faculty of Education have another way to talk to a Western Education recruiter.
Until December, students can use Sococo to have their questions about the faculty’s programs answered.
Sococo is an online tool that allows people to use virtual space to join a conversation. For those looking to apply to the Faculty of Education, they can click Sococo’s guest link and talk to recruiters using video or a chat box.
“It’s much more interactive than email,” said recruiter Tom Croucher. “We’re able to respond better to student needs because the technology allows us to respond in real time with more personalized advice.”
Western Education recruiters are available every Tuesday and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. eastern time. They can answer questions about the faculty, such as its programs, including course prerequisites, admission requirements as well as the types of degrees and scholarships available.
“We are here to support students from the beginning of the process to the end of it,” said recruiter Meghan Kines. “From their first question right up until they accept their admission offer, we are there for them.”
