AQ Instructor Awards of Excellence
Congratulations to Larry Langan and Alison Ogilvie, winners of the Additional Qualification Teaching Award for Excellence for the summer 2011 sessions.
Ranked as a leader in online education, Western’s Continuing Teacher Education program offers over 150 courses for teachers wishing to expand their skills and professional development. Approximately 4500 students participate in the five sessions over the course of the academic year. The Award for Excellence was established in 2007 to recognise instructors such as Larry and Alison, who contribute so much to the success of this program. Specifically, students are invited to nominate an instructor who, in their opinion, has provided an outstanding classroom experience, either online or onsite.
Larry is long time instructor in Western’s AQ program and also serves as the Coordinator of Service Learning (Catholic Studies for Teachers) at King’s University College. Students nominating Larry described him as “a fantastic educator” who was “professional, warm and supportive.” Larry’s students consistently commented on his ability to make online learning “a great experience”.
Alison Ogilvie is also a long time instructor in the AQ program and also teaches Preservice courses. Alison’s nominators were impressed with how effectively she “developed an online collaborative teaching and learning experience” and was described as “the best instructor I have had so far”!
Congratulations again to Larry and Alison on their very well-deserved awards!
