Dr. Marie Battiste, internationally renowned scholar, to speak at the Faculty of Education
Dr. Marie Battiste, internationally renowned scholar, will speak at the Faculty of Education auditorium on January 20 at 4:00 pm. “Bringing Aboriginal Education into the Mainstream: Nourishing a Learning Spirit” is sponsored by the Faculty of Education and the Thames Valley District School Board.
Winner of the 2008 National Aboriginal Achievement Award, Dr. Battiste is a Mi’kmaq educator from Potl’tek First Nation and Professor and Director of the Aboriginal Education Research Centre, College of Education, University of Saskatchewan. A graduate of Harvard and Stanford, she has published widely on Indigenous Knowledge and heritage and on Aboriginal education.
Admission to the lecture and parking are free. All are welcome.
