Inaugural lunch
Students in the Faculty of Education watch transfixed as newly inaugurated President Barack Obama delivers his inaugural address to record crowds in Washington on January 20. On a normal day, the faculty cafeteria is abuzz with conversation and lesson planning. On this day, all were silenced as they watched and listened.
Some but not all schools in London televised the event for their students. As one elementary school principal, Kathy Fraumeni, said to CBC radio on the morning of the inauguration, "This is an historic event. As teachers, we talk about 'teachable moments.' This is one of them."
