Faculty of Education alumnus picks up Olympic bronze
University of Western Ontario alumni Jon Beare, Iain Brambell and Liam Parsons picked up a bronze medal in Men's Lightweight four rowing in Beijing Sunday morning. Iain Brambell is also an alumnus of the Faculty of Education.
The trio, along with Victoria's Mike Lewis, finished 7/10th of a second behind second place Poland and just under three seconds behind gold medal winning Denmark.
Education Alumna, Heather Mandoli, who rowed in the Women's Eight was disappointed with her team's fourth place finish but said, "We gave it all we had and I can walk away proudly since I rowed my very best race and will take away so much more than a medal could ever bring."
