"It's not OK"

Internationally known speaker and teacher, Professor Shirley Steinberg, spoke to a gathering in the Faculty on Wednesday, February 17. Her topic was "Media and Islamophobia: It’s not OK."

Professor Steinberg was warmly received by an audience of Faculty members, graduate and undergraduate students in the Community Room.

Author and editor of many books of pedagogy, urban and youth culture and cultural studies including Teaching Against Islamophobia (2010), Professor Steinberg teaches at McGill University and is the co-founder of the Paulo and Nita Freire International Project for Critical Pedagogy. The organizer of the Baeza Congress, she is committed to a global community of transformation educators and community workers engaged in radical love, social justice, and the situating power within social and cultural contexts.
