Welcome to two new Faculty members

The Faculty of Education welcomes two new tenure-track Assistant Professors: Dr. Kathy Hibbert and Dr. Paul Tarc. Professor Tarc comes to us from York University while Professor Hibbert has had a long association with Western and the Faculty of Education.

Professor Hibbert will work in the area of Adolescent Literacy and English Language Arts. Prior to this appointment, Kathy was Director of Continuing Teacher Education and Director of the Centre for Education, Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. She will continue to work with the Department of Medical Imaging in a research capacity as Principal Investigator of the Academic Development Fund, investigating “Scholarship in Radiology Education” across Canada. Kathy earned her B.A. from Huron College University, her B.Ed. from the University of Ottawa, her M.Ed. at the University of Windsor and her Ph.D. here at the Faculty of Education at Western.

Professor Tarc’s area of study is Comparative and International Education. Paul was a Sessional Lecturer at York University where he taught Science and Technology, Foundations in Education, Models of Education and Urban Diversity in the Pre-Service Program. Paul attended Waterloo University where he earned his B.Sc. in Applied Physics. He received his B.Ed. and Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction at the Faculty of Education at Queen's and went on to York University where he earned his Ph.D. in Culture Language and Teaching.
